Hand built by craftsmen to the highest standards, using traditional methods and materials, the Le Mans Eight is a faithful and detailed recreation of one of the most evocative sports cars ever produced - The Bentley Speed Six.

...and it goes as well as it looks part 2........

The straight eight powerplant which features SU Type H.6 carburettors mounted on balanced polished aluminium inlet manifold.

Long range "Le Mans" fuel tank shown with optional racing filling cap.

Whilst it retains all the looks and proportions of the original Speed Six, known to be W.O.Bentley's favourite car, it has the advantages of more modern driving characteristics including, lighter steering, up-rated brakes and suspension. This makes it not only more appropriate for current road conditions but also a delight to drive and easier and less expensive to maintain. Production will be extremely limited and only the discerning few will have the opportunity to enjoy this exclusive icon of the swinging twenties.

The Le Mans Eight is built on a Bentley Mark Six chassis, utilising its original running gear to ensure that the balance and integrity of this fine chassis is not compromised.  As the Le Mans Eight uses a Bentley chassis, with Bentley running gear, it comes with its original registration number and that all important 'Bentley' name on the registration document.

The engine is a rebuilt straight eight Rolls Royce/ Bentley, slightly modified, breathing through four period SU carburettors. The ash framed, aluminium panelled body, constructed to the dimensions and proportions of the original coachwork, is covered in the traditional green leather cloth and complimented by green leather upholstery. Weather protection is provided by a double-duck hood and full-length tonneau. Period instrumentation, set into a machine turned aluminium dashboard completes the nostalgic feel of the interior.

Customers can visit our workshops during the build of their car and have the opportunity to tailor certain features to their individual specification.

The Le Mans Eight combines original Bentley parts with modern day recreations based on period materials, original plans and traditional skills and craftsmanship to create a car of elegance, nostalgia and driveability.

Driveability tested to the limit !  One of our Le Mans Eights has successfully competed in the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2007 finishing 1st in Class.  12,500 kilometres, many of them on unmade roads,  in just 35 days, completed without difficulty, says much about the reliability and strength of the cars.

One of our Le Mans Eights as displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2007.  The car was kindly made available for the show by its owner who had completed over 5,000 miles in the car in just under 3 months.  The 'running in' period included entry in motor rallies in Belgium and Southern Spain.  Pictures of the car competing in the Ardennes Road Rally are shown below.
